Alberta Municipal Affairs maintains a database of information with regard to personal property such as motor vehicles, industrial and farm equipment, aircraft, or even that big screen TV. These items are commonly referred to as “consumer goods” but do not include land.
Someone with a financial interest in the consumer goods of another party may register their interest or lien. It serves to protect their interest while at the same time providing you, the consumer, with the ability to check before you buy that used car to ensure it is free of liens and encumbrances.
• Vehicle Lien Searches
• Individual Name (Debtor) Searches
• Business Name (Debtor) Searches
• Related Writ & Distribution Seizure Searches
• Financing Statement Registrations
• Writs of Enforcement
• Garageman’s Lien Registration
• Amendments, Renewals, Discharges
Personal Property Searches and Registrations across Canada.
Each Province maintains its own registry. If you are buying that used car and it comes from another Province, call us and we can search that jurisdiction for any liens.
